Under minimal guidance, is responsible for supporting and reviewing compliance requirements of the Corporate Regulatory Bureau reporting processes in a deadline focused environment. Provides analysis of results and inconsistencies to Manager. Provides reporting and compliance support to a variety of audiences, both internally and to external Regulatory agencies. Researches variances and identifies and works to resolve issues as they arise. Presents findings to Manager. Actively participates to continuously improve processes to ensure work is performed in the fastest, most efficient means possible.
Job Responsibilities:
* Under minimal guidance supports and reviews the accurate and timely completion of reporting requirements for the Corporate Regulatory Bureau Filings Team, including but not limited to, Transactional reporting to US and Canadian Bureaus, and AV reporting.
* Under minimal guidance supports accounting, financial, and statistical analysis. Prepares reports efficiently and effectively. Performs complex data management to analyze and distribute requested statistical data to customers in a clear, concise format. Identifies and works to help resolve issues as they arise.
* Develops, documents and performs internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
* Identifies, develops, and maintains efficient, cost effective processes/controls/data management. Begins to understand how departments interact.
* May review work, serve as a technical resource, and/or provide basic training to junior staff (Interns/Co-ops, Associate Accountants).
Qualifications:
* Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred) or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1+ year of financial / statistical related experience is preferred.
* Basic understanding of financial analysis knowledge/skills is required.
* Experience with Essbase, GQL and premium and claims source systems preferred.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and decision making abilities.
