Sr. Supply Chain Business Manger

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

* Define and monitor supplier performance metrics
* Evaluate supplier performance
* Identify risks associated within the selected supplier base
* Drive continuous supplier process and performance improvement related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, Supplier Managed Inventory) capacity planning and manufacturing strategies
* Document and share best known methods
* Assess available and needed capacity
* Manage allocations/priorities
* Works on escalations and delivery improvements
* Drive lead time reduction efforts
* Support cost reduction efforts
* Create presentation, white papers, process flow charts to support continuous process improvement programs
* Represent Supply Chain Operations across the global organization
* Ensure internal/external customer needs are met
* Encourage supplier involvement in highly technical / contractually complex new product part designs using the suppliers expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability
* Work with engineering and the supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure on time delivery of critical material

Other Job Responsibilities

* Knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, materials management, manufacturing processes, business fundamentals/finance
* Advanced knowledge of Fabrication Commodities i.e. Sheetmetal, Frames, Machining, or other commodities built from a unique Print and Bills of Material

Minimum Qualifications

* BA,BS/BSE level degree in business, supply chain, engineering, materials science, logistics or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge)
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Business suite.
* Project/program management skills and abilities
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Ability to learn new technologies and manufacturing processes (aptitude/proficiency)
* Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams
* Strong matrix management abilities
* Relationship building abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, strong negotiation skills, strong mentoring, & influencing change

Preferred Qualifications

* Candidates with previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, operations management encouraged to apply
* Certification by NAPM (National Association of Purchasing Management) and/or APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society)
