Job Description:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of assembly operations which include skilled hand work and/or automated production equipment.
Essential Functions:
* Perform a variety of mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations.
* Follow a standard sequence of operations but work may require considerable judgment in resolving problems.
* Operating from work instructions and drawings you will install electronic or mechanical components and make very complex adjustments.
* Measure components and assemblies using equipment such as vernier calipers, gage blocks and thread gauges.
* Make very complex setups holding tolerances to specifications.
* May involve coaching junior Assemblers or assisting with their training.
* Regular and dependable attendance is required.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience.
* Excellent soldering and assembly skills, knowledge of and experience with measuring tools and gauges, ability to read and understand complex work instructions.
* Prior certification to IPC, J-STD-001, MIL-STD-2000, NASA-STD8739.3 or equivalent strongly preferred. Basic computer skills required.
Physical and Intellectual Requirements:
* Needs excellent eye-hand coordination and the ability to manipulate small tools and equipment, often under a microscope.
* Must be able to sit at workbench for extended periods and employ good ergonomic work habits.
* Must be able to read and understand complex electrical and mechanical drawings, and work instructions, and be able to perform complicated mechanical assembly problem solving.
* Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds when required.
