Job Overview/Summary

Inventory Deployment Planners play a key role in driving business results by ensuring appropriate supply of inventory network wide. This role utilizes various systems/resources to manage the deployment of product from source locations to shipping locations throughout the network taking into account demand, current inventory, inventory targets, customer service objectives and costs. The Inventory Deployment Planner also scrutinizes system outputs and makes decisions that optimize business trade-offs.



Key Responsibilities

* Works autonomously to manage the deployment of finished goods from manufacturing/postponement locations into the network with the ultimate goal of optimizing supply chain costs and customer service.

* Analyzes the complexities of system settings and recommendations and applies independent decision making to balance cost and service.

* Deployment Planners are responsible for balancing demand requests against stocking and shipping requirements.

* Reviews system generated signals to ensure they are correctly representing the target inventory/safety stock and on hand inventory settings/data at each manufacturing and postponement facilities

* Responsible for knowledge of transit times as well as the complexities of the transportation market with the objective of meeting the deadlines for executing the inventory plan.

* Balances mode of transportation and customer requested ship dates to ensure least cost options when possible

* Responsible for analyzing system generated alerts and applying independent recommendations and insights to make decisions.

* Works cross-functionally with Plant Schedulers, Supply Planning, Transportation, DC Operations and Customer Service.

* Improve metrics including intermodal utilization and truckload utilization while maintaining customer service levels and inventory targets.

* Recommends process and system upgrades to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of deployment processes.

* Executes special internal projects as needed throughout the year (examples are driving new reports or upgrades to processes).

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or a GED from accredited institution required.

* 6 months of related work experience in a corporate work environment (supply chain planning, DRP, deployment, scheduling, inventory management, customer service)

* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree

* 2 years of experience in supply chain planning, DRP, deployment, scheduling, inventory management, or customer service

* Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and Outlook. SAP, Ortec, and Kinaxis Rapid Response Experience

* Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills

* Leadership & Interpersonal Skills willingness to assist co-workers as needed

* Problem Solving - ability to analyze multiple factors and determine correct action

* Decision Making ability to make quick decisions using multiple sources of data

* Able to work autonomously with limited supervisio
