Medication Management Solutions

With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team is able to manage multiple systems and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.

As Senior Staff Software Engineer you will provide technical leadership for teams of engineers to deliver high-quality code; set standards and patterns; design, code, and review software for large, complex systems, applications, and interfaces; and mentor senior developers. Work will often be self-directed.

In this role you will be responsible for:

* Working with development teams to deliver systems and software applications using Agile and DevOps principles.
* Researching and proposing new technologies that can be employed for new system development and the design of improvements to current products.
* Working on unusually complex technical problems and providing solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious while using disciplined work methodologies utilizing industry-standard methods in resolving problems, devising tests, and setting specifications.
* Planning and participating in applied development in disciplines strategically relevant to our business, and in areas assigned to the department.
* Providing advice and intellectual motivation to colleagues.
* Participating in, and sometimes providing technical leadership for, multi-disciplinary complex technical projects.
* Serving as organization spokesperson on advanced projects. Acting as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
* Analyzing strengths and weaknesses of competing technologies to assist commercialization efforts.

To be successful in this role, you require:

* The ability to lead in a team environment.
* The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of management.
* The ability to tune software performance and find root cause of complex problems.
* Proficiency in developing and executing system integration and performance characterization plans.
* The ability to facilitate testing and performance measurement by simulating parts of the system that are not readily available.
* Ability to perform in a team environment.
* Experience with most of the following.
* Automating software build and deployment for CI/CD
* Test automation and integration testing
* Source control management such as Git and GitHub.
* Cloud platforms such as Azure.
* Developing ASP.NET Core and .NET Core applications.
* Reporting tools such as SSRS.
* Secure coding principles.
* Microservice architecture.
* Web frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular
* Messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus
* Software integration with devices such as barcode scanners, iris scanners and fingerprint readers
* Agile development
* Developing desktop applications with WPF or Electron
* Developing touch-based web or desktop applications

Education and experience required:

* B.S. Computer Science degree and 10+ years experience in Software Engineering.
* Experience in developing product architectures and product requirements through interaction with Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Firmware, and Clinicians.
* Experience in acting independently to determine the plan of attack on new or special assignments.
* Experience in resolving significant and unique issues in creative and effective ways.
* Masters degree and experience with medical devices a plus.
