Job Description: THIS IS A DOD SKILLBRIDGE OPPORTUNITY.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. Assists in a variety of duties to include, sampling, observations, training and inspections. Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met. Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
Will learn how to:
* Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure that they follow safety standards and government regulations
* Design and implement workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers from hazardous work conditions
* Investigate concerns, incidents and accidents to identify what caused them and how they might be prevented
* Evaluate programs on workplace health and safety and participate in an internal corporate EHS program audit
* Train workers about workplace EHS programs (electrical safety, lockout/tagout, ergonomics) and the use of PPE/safety equipment
* Prepare reports on their findings
* Develop interpersonal communication skills
Qualifications:
* Eligible for DoD Skillbridge/Career Skills Program
* Will be within last 180 days of active duty service upon start of program
* Candidate must have above average expertise in Microsoft Office applications particularly MS Power Point, MS Excel and MS Word (e.g. development of forms)
* Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with MS Office suite to include Access and Project
* Strong analytical, problem solving, and writing skills are critical
