POSITION SUMMARY
This role is charged with leading all aspects of Support Services (Operational Technology, Industrial Control Systems, Field Automation Specialists, Measurement, and Data Analysts) to ensure safety, quality, positive work environment, customer requirements, and maintenance needs are met through the Hess Way of Working. The role is responsible for accomplishing company goals and targets in accordance with all company policies, work management standards, and quality standards through leadership to direct reports that emphasizes safety, quality, customer / supplier relations, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary areas of focus will include the following:
Operational Control
* Drives embedment of Hess safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a safety leader. This includes ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures, as well as, lead, perform, and/or participate in 5S, accident investigation, safety audits and related activities
* Maintain knowledge and control over Support Services activities to ensure proper work schedules; material/personnel availability; and proper use of manpower skills, equipment, and facilities
* Ensure maintenance operations and Infrastructure project support (i.e. initial development through commissioning) are running effectively in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency/productivity, regulatory compliance, cost, and team member morale
* Ensure frequent audits are performed to ensure procedures for safety, quality, equipment, and training are being followed and all aspects of the work management system is effective including correcting sub-standard behaviors. These should include but not be limited to standardized work, 5S, and safety audits of team and implement countermeasures when issues are identified
* Support development and management of annual business plan, budget, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people
* Ensure business planning goals are met and kept on track
* Review and track maintenance and project dashboards including leading problem solving for negative trends or goals not met
* Assist with generation and report out of weekly / monthly reports with targets
* Monitors and tracks staffing conditions, work hours and overtime, job rotation, and absenteeism
Continuous Improvement
* Create and sustain a strong lean culture, seek to understand opportunities to utilize lean tools, and teach/coach team members on concepts with a primary focus being on standard work development (not to be confused with SWIs), 5-Whys, Problem Solving A3s, and value stream maps to:
* Reduce process variation
* Reduce unevenness in work (level out through prioritization and scheduling)
* Methodically identify and eliminate waste from work management and maintenance processes
* Enhance customer and supplier relationships across the value stream
* Develop a robust culture of lean and innovation by setting clear long-term strategies and associated objectives that empower the organization to look for ways to make their jobs easier and improve asset present value
* Work across the entire Bakken organization (Reliability Operations, Technology, IT, Infrastructure, Production Accounting, Technical Authorities, Regulatory, etc.) to identify, assess, and build/improve workflows where cost effective for the asset
* Build collaborative supplier relations with strategic partners through strategic alignment, communication and trust, cross-functional engagement, focus on co-prosperity, and self-reliance to manage and perform work
Leadership / People Development
* Ensure further development of all team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, and coaching. Work with Competency Assurance and Learning (CAL) to update training matrices, schedule any needed training, and assure training is effective and corrects sub-standard performance. This also includes working with MRI Snr Manager, Lean Advisor, and HR to ensure all team member role expectations are clearly defined around the Hess Way of Working (e.g. drive continuous improvement and the tools that are essential by role).
* Provide direction to team members emphasizing quality, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, environment/health/safety, and morale.

Work Environment
* Office based role (Minot/Tioga) 5/2 (9/80) work schedule.
Experience/Skills
* 6+ years oil and gas industry experience or equivalent industry related experience
* 2+ years of leadership experience as formal people leader in production environment preferred
* Demonstrates knowledge of and/or ability to learn following skills:
* Measurement: awareness of applicable regulatory bodies and industry standards and how those requirements are achieved through maintenance activities
* OT: awareness of PCD Security Standard requirements and how they impact network/PLC/SCADA/DCS design and maintenance strategies
* FAS: familiarity with engineered cause and effects and how PLC programming effectively implements them
* Industrial Control Systems: familiarity with SCADA system functionality and available industry options
* Data Analyst: awareness of common data storage infrastructure and available tools/techniques to leverage that data into business value
* Strong knowledge of applicable EHS procedures/practices such as Permit to Work, Routine Task Procedure, Energy Isolation, Respiratory Protection, PPE, Emergency Response
* Strong knowledge of Hess Work Management System, maintenance planning, and equipment master data utilization
* Proficient computer skills / business system knowledge (SAP, Spotfire, Enviance, Excel, Teams, EBS, ICONICS)
