PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Material Handler/Controller performs warehousing duties such as receiving, shipping, storage, inventory, issue, and staging of nuclear safety and non-safety related materials (including hazardous and non-hazardous materials). Ensures materials are handled, documented, stored, and segregated in accordance with applicable Exelon fleet, ANSI, OSHA and NRC procedures and requirements. Operates PC for associated data entry and query functions. Operates in supply inventory system for material requests and other duties as required. Must be able to qualify to operate forklifts and truck. Performs some work outside, such as unloading. Handles materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ensures materials are handled, documented, stored, and segregated in accordance with applicable Exelon fleet, ANSI, OSHA and NRC procedures and requirements.
2. Operates PC for associated data entry and query functions.
3. Inputs data into supply chain inventory database.
4. Operates forklifts and trucks.
5. Handles materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge:
Knowledge of warehousing activities, materials handling and storage methods.

Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to input data into supply chain inventory database.
Ability to qualify as Level I Receipt Inspector.
Ability to qualify on the use and operation of electric and gasoline powered forklifts, and other related material handling equipment.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma plus 2 years of related work experience, or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
Minimum 2 years experience of which min 1 year of material handling.

Competencies: Safety Consciousness, Corporate and Site Values, People Skills, Results Oriented, Process Driven, Basic Math, Adaptability, Decision Making and Work Quality Standards, Accuracy.

Other:
Must be able to gain site protected area access.
Must be able to work overtime for refueling outages and as needed.
Safe operation of material handling tools and equipment; such as various types of fork trucks, order pickers, and trucks.
Must be able to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds
