Job Description

Major Responsibilities

* Assist the GOM in managing overall facility efficiency including: safety, productivity, operating expense, LPH, quality and resource allocation
* Allocates and manages operation's resources/roles based on operation's and budgetary targets and customer expectations
* Interacts with Sales and other functions to resolve customer issues and ensure profitability.
* Drives a high-performance organization through:
* Contributing to region strategic direction through tactical implementation of key projects and initiatives in the facility
* Aligning the culture of the facility to the overall company strategy and structure
* Manages and coordinates the activities of multiple departments ensuring a productive, safe and inclusive work environment.
* Achieves productivity, process and quality goals for areas of responsibility. Identifies and removes barriers to achieving departmental goals.
* Ensures adequate staffing levels according to the departments' workload. Coordinates necessary staffing changes across departments based on projected volume.
* Ensures proper safety focus and required safety processes/training are implemented.
* Maintains functional plans around workforce planning, communications planning, and operational planning.
* Understands and demonstrates Essendant's core Values & guiding actions
* Trains, develops and prepares the Assistant Operations Manager for promotion to the level of Operations Manager level.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related discipline required.
* Minimum five years of job related experience required.
