Job Description:
The Hydraulic Integration Team is responsible for supporting LTTs, Hyd Mining Shovels, and Drills Products. The incumbent Design Engineer will provide hydraulic lines routings (Hydraulics, Grease, Heater, AC, Fuel, PTO, etc) support and manage the team's product time, cost, reliability, and durability deliverables. He/She will facilitate and support various NPI, 6-sigma, CPPD, and CPI Teams. Incumbent will have the opportunity to collaborate with suppliers and internal business partners such as our manufacturing assembly factory's. The ideal candidate would have experience in Creo, Teamcenter Engineering, and Caterpillar Engineering Standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Concept, Design, and Execute Hydraulic Lines Design via Creo and TeamCenter
* Create designs that meet customer expectations: cost, quality, safety, etc
* High Collaboration with Manufacturing Operations to simplify assembly
* Utilize APQP tools to improve product quality through collaboration
* Work with CPI tools to resolve customer failures
* Utilize the NPI process to manage time, cost quality of designs
* Learn the Cat Design Engineering standards, to apply to designs
* Learn multiple fluid line systems (Hyd, PTO, Heater, Fuel, AC, etc)
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline
* 4+ years experience with CAT machines, Hydraulic systems or CREO/Teamcenter
Top candidates will also have:
* Knowledge of Caterpillar machine operation, maintenance, and repair
* Experience with Creo/TeamCenter and Engineering Standards
* Knowledge of the NPI and CPI process
* Ability to communicate and build effective relationships
* Proven teamwork across cross-functional groups
* Ability to travel to customers and suppliers (<5% of the time)
* Ability to work outside of normal business hours, occasionally
