Job Description

Autoliv is currently looking to fill the role of a Commodity Buyer at its Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI. This Commodity Buyer will be responsible for Divisional segment purchasing of steel and stamping and standard components in support of Autolivs Seat Belt and Air Bag product lines.

Responsibilities include:

* Work within a purchasing team to create a purchasing strategy for a segment of goods.
* Support Lead Buyer & Global Lead Buyer.
* Evaluate vendor quotes, services, and savings, to determine the most desirable suppliers.
* Work all aspects of vendor relationship management and lifecycle.
* Support divisional workshops & Zero-Defect Strategy with Supplier Quality.
* Support specific Standard Components; Raw Materials for ANA Seat Belt
* Develop best in class suppliers (Cost, Quality, Delivery)
* Responsible for negotiations, cost modeling, LTA, Resourcing, & other
* Implement VEVAs & resourcing determined utilizing AS7

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering, as well as minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Buyer in the Automotive Industry is required.

Other requirements and skills include:

* Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment.
* Experience interfacing with internal and external customers globally.
* Familiarity with automotive quality requirements
* Strong understanding of raw materials is preferred
* Detailed-oriented with strong negotiation and analytical skills with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
* Command of purchasing skill set including strategic planning, problem solving and cost analysis.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically writing Microsoft Excel Macros.
* Results-oriented with ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment prioritizing tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
* Knowledge of AGPS and/or PLM databases considered an asset.
* Must be willing and able to travel domestically and/or internationally, as required.
