The Industrial Engineering position will provide the candidate with a broad perspective of Applied Materials' manufacturing and logistics operations. The job requires that the candidate demonstrate strong leadership and influence skills which will be brought to bear across global organizations.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Strategy development
o Conduct Capacity Planning exercises for Applied Materials global manufacturing sites.
o Develop manufacturing line layouts of infrastructure for new manufacturing content.
o Implement Lean strategies across manufacturing lines.
o Plan and implement continual improvement projects
Manufacturing Operational Support
o Provide Autocad layouts of new and existing manufacturing lines and prepare the facilities scope of work associated with manufacturing line rearrangement.
o Coordinate facilities upgrades and rearrangements to support new products or capacity upgrades.
o Negotiate and develop capacity plans with manufacturing to ensure that manufacturing capacity does not become a gate to manufacturing commits.
o Conduct Ergonomic, design for assembly, design for manufacturability reviews for Applied Materials' new products. Plan, implement and introduce engineering solutions to address these findings.
Data mining and reporting
o Develop capacity models for manufacturing assembly and test operations.
o Work with IT partners and link production control and capacity planning databases for the purpose of automating the capacity planning process.
o Create simple Ad-hoc reports and queries from the production application database for the purpose of modeling capacity, material flow, future demand, and manufacturing capacity constraints.
Preferred Skills:
o Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts: single piece flow, material presentation, capacity planning
o Strong ability to develop capacity models and manipulate data to understand space usage and predict manufacturing and logistics constraints.
o Understanding of data analytics software applications for data mining and automation of routine capacity calculations.
