As a member of the Product Design Engineering team at Apple, you will help to create the next generation of the world's finest electronic devices. You will drive the rapid advancement of materials and processes that are the building blocks of our devices. You will work closely with many different multi-functional teams including Industrial Design, Operations, and Reliability.
Key Qualifications
Key Qualifications
* 2+ years experience in glass component design, validation and production
* Deep technical knowledge of glass and associated processes
* Experience with glass reliability testing and standards
* Familiarity with basic analysis methods (SEM, EDS, etc) and fractography
* Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques
* Flexibility and comfort working in a constantly evolving environment
* Preferred experience:
* Experience with glass forming and tempering
* Experience with regulatory requirements for glazing applications (eg. Architectural, Automotive, Consumer Electronics)
* Experience with thin film coating systems for glass
* Experience with various glass composition families (soda lime, aluminosilicate)
* Experience with high-quality cosmetic parts and finishes
* Track record of material selection and development for products with demanding performance requirements
* This position will require international travel (20%+)
