Job Summary
As an Endpoint Security Operations Engineer, you will be a technical endpoint security engineer for a very diverse enterprise. You will be working with a team that is responsible for incident management, change execution, and maintenance / support of endpoint security technologies in a rapidly changing security sector in a large enterprise.
The ideal Endpoint Security Ops Engineer will be adept in learning new security capabilities, adaptable, take initiative, and be a team player. Knowledge sharing is highly encouraged. You will work in a very challenging, complex and rewarding organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle lifecycle, maintenance and support of our current endpoint security technologies, partner closely with Endpoint Engineering in the deployment of emerging security capabilities.
* Ensure endpoint security solutions, policies and emerging technology are on track to meet and respond to the ever-present threat to our data and endpoint infrastructure.
* Ensure that all technologies are operationally ready and that the Endpoint Security, Security Operations, and Network Operations teams are enabled to execute on capabilities as needed to resolve operational issues or business requirements.
* Provide incident management and execution of change activities. Assist in developing SOP documentation in concert with Endpoint Engineering.
* Partner closely with Endpoint Engineering to ensure endpoint security capabilities and policies are deployed and maintained successfully.
* Provide on-call support as required for the needs of the business.
Job Qualifications
* Demonstrable knowledge of Windows (workstation and server) and/or MAC operating systems
* Excellent communication skills including verbal communication, written and documentation
* An analytical mindset; with an ability to deconstruct and documenting process, policies and standards
* Ability and desire to learn current and adapt to new technologies
* Basic knowledge of malware operation, indicators of threat with an understanding of current threat landscape (threat actors, APT, cyber-crime, etc.)
* Customer service skills, with a demonstrated empathy for solving client issues in a timely and effective fashion
Preferred Competencies
* Moderate understanding and hands-on experience with windows registry, Active Directory and Group Policy
* Moderate experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
* Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, network layers, Ethernet, ARP, DNS)
* Basic knowledge of Firewall and Proxy technologies
* Basic experience with software lifecycle across a large enterprise; deployment, upgrades, patching
* Basic knowledge of compliance and regulation requirements (PCI, HIPPA, SOX, etc.)
* Basic privileged access management/right management experience, designing solutions based on least privilege (Avecto Defendpoint)
* Basic experience with ITIL processes such as Incident/Problem/Configuration/Change management
Desirable Certifications
* Microsoft Certifications (MCSA, MCSD, MCSE)
