Role Summary

The Interiors Engineer provides world-class customer service while keeping safety and compliance the top priorities. This individual contributor, as part of the Engineering department, works with a team to establish process improvements for preventative aircraft maintenance procedures and reliability which support operational performance goals in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance resulting in world class service at Alaska Airlines (AS).

Key Duties

In the entry level:

* Under the direction of their manager, develops repairs, alterations, and maintenance specifications and provides engineering assistance to all departments within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division.

* Provide input into preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements.

* Assist team members in processes for acceptance of aircraft delivery.

In the intermediate level:

* Take initiative to develop solution to complex repairs, alterations, and maintenance specifications and provides engineering assistance to all departments within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division.

* Make recommendations on preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements.

* Provide aircraft maintenance solutions while maintaining configuration compliance.

* Oversee and lead the processes for acceptance of aircraft delivery

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Entry Level

Required

* Bachelor's degree with a focus in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related area, or two years engineering or related experience in lieu of this degree

* Interiors experience

* Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, operating policies, and procedures

Intermediate Level

Required

* Bachelors degree with a focus in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree

* 2 years of experience in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or related area

* Interiors experience

* Strong Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, operating policies, and procedures
