As an Assistant Actuary you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuarys career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset-Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.

About the role

This exciting role will be a pivotal part of the Reinsurance Financial Reporting team. The candidate will help drive the implementation of the Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) for the US Life Reinsurance team. The candidate will also participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting responsibilities on a GAAP, Stat and Tax basis. The work will include:

* Implementing and reviewing modeling initiatives, and preparing analysis of results for management
* Research and development of open LDTI methodological questions
* Work with other teams, including actuaries, IT, accountants, and consultants, to build a first-class and efficient model and modeling process
* Periodic financial reporting, including calculating reserves and producing analysis for management
* Responding to audit questions as needed
* Improve and document controls at all levels
* Ad-hoc reinsurance projects

What we are looking for

* Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field.
* 5+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products, with a focus on Traditional Life.
* Associate of the Society of Actuaries with goal of attaining FSA designation
* Background in Financial Reporting and LDTI a plus.
* Highly detailed oriented with strong analytical problem solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
* Basic programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is required.
* Experience with modeling software is a plus.
