Job Description
As a Packaging Team Member, you will work at the Kitchen facility and assist in making sure all products that come from the Kitchen are quality products, packed according to specifications and uphold our standards.
Responsibilities
* Understand and adhere to kitchen procedures and policies
* Follow all standards and guidelines set forth by USDA, FDA, and Whole Foods.
* Abide by all Safety regulations set forth by OSHA and region or state.
* Complete all necessary trainings on all equipment necessary to perform daily responsibilities.
* Responsible to monitor, clean, and maintain all equipment necessary to perform daily responsibilities.
* Follow all established job specific set-up, production, and breakdown procedures as outlined in kitchen policies and procedures.
* Responsible to clean and maintain safe specific job areas (floors, work tables, desks, offices, etc.)
* Must take a proactive approach towards controlling costs by responsible use of all kitchen products, supplies, and equipment.
* Must maintain open lines of communication with leadership.
* Operate a box maker
* Operate a Tipper Tie clipping machine.
* Operate a shrink tunnel.
* Operate a cup filler machine.
* Operate a metal detector.
* Follow all packaging sheets.
* Follow all labeling specifications exactly for shelf life, quantity, and product name.
* Accurately weigh, measure, and count product to ensure effective food cost and maximum food quality.
* Will be required to understand the use of time and temperature indicator labels.
* Check all labeling of products and shipping boxes for accuracy and maintain a label log on a daily basis.
* Clean and maintain all equipment.
* Pack food in appropriate containers and set samples aside for testing.
* Maintain food bank by rotation of food following a first in/first out inventory (FIFO).
* Requisition product from other areas of kitchen as needed on a daily basis.
* Requisition packaging supplies as needed on a daily basis.
* Must maintain highest standards regarding quality of all kitchen products and materials.
* Proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and facility.

* Perform basic math calculations

* Excellent written and verbal communicator
* Must have a full understanding and working knowledge of all kitchen operations
* Must have a good palate and taste the food to monitor and assure food quality
* Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
