KPMG is currently seeking an Data Solutions Director in the Accounting Advisory Services team for our Deal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

* Work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment supporting clients on a variety of complex business and accounting issues related to divestitures, acquisitions, restatements and emerging from bankruptcy, owning and participating in all components of the client delivery process
* Access, parse and load complex data sets from a variety of structured and unstructured sources, ranging from small, simple excel reports to large, complex datasets from enterprise applications and data warehouses quickly, efficiently and accurately
* Execute on a broad range of data engineering (data extraction, transformation and loading), data modeling (structured and unstructured data) and analytic techniques at the direction of KPMG and client leaders; assess, design and build tailored financial database models, analysis and tools/applications based upon the dynamic needs of each project; draft and present technical documentation and client presentations
* Interface and collaborate with client management teams and technical resources, KPMG project leaders, application owners, technical and developer resources to align product deliverables and work stream plans
* Bring an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit to your role through the identification, design, development of solutions to improve the projects, processes and solutions around you leveraging your skill set through continuous learning opportunities
* Mentor, teach, share knowledge and communicate with your colleagues across projects, service lines and the firm; rapidly understand client dynamics and key issues, concerns, models, synergies and accounting and tax reporting implications

Qualifications:

* Minimum eight years of recent experience in developing database models or applications with proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau or similar data analysis and ETL tools; knowledge of Python, R, DAX and/or M a plus
* Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college/university
* Experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising staff, clients and/or partners towards the successful completion of a project
* Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment as a team player
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts down to actionable objectives to advise stakeholders including C-level executives, client management and firm colleagues and able to explain business processes, concepts, challenges and issues to technical resources
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, power pivots & query, formulas, macros and external data connections
* Willingness and ability to travel
