Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM MaaS360 is a market leader in the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) domain. This 100% SaaS product is delivered from 10 globally distributed data centers that service 16K+ tenants and support 5M+ devices.
Were looking for a motivated engineer with a strong understanding of the database technologies to help grow, maintain and administer our database infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting, defining best practices, scale and optimizing of NoSQL, data streaming and RDMBS technologies.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 8+ years of hands on experience supporting databases in a 247 production environment, with at least 3-5 years experience managing RDMBS and/or NoSQL and/or Streaming technologies.
* Architecting, configuring, and maintaining NoSQL and/or data streaming technologies (such as CouchDB, Redis, Kafka, Spark, etc) and/or RDBMS technologies like Oracle, Postgres.
* Expert level knowledge of at least one NoSQL or data streaming platform (CouchDB, Redis, Spark, Kafka, etc) or RDBMS platform like Oracle.
* Strong background in data architecture and modelling.
* Scaling and optimizing NoSQL and/or streaming clusters and/or RDBMS clusters for both throughput and reliability.
* Documenting and defining best practices for data architecture and reliability.
* Detailed knowledge of high availability and scaling strategies for NoSQL and/or RDBMS databases.
* Automating the deployment and updates for all databases.
* Familiarity with one or more version control systems (Git, Subversion, Mercurial).
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Familiarity with virtualization and cloud infrastructure as it relates to tuning and optimizing databases.
* Hands on experience with at least one configuration management/orchestration framework (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, etc).
* Hands on experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (or similar technologies).
* Familiarity with DevOps/Agile principles (e.g. CAMS, Lean, Kanban, Scrum, etc.
