Our Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) organization brings together world-class experts to develop and ship groundbreaking products at the intersection of hardware, software, and platform. We plan to release multiple products over the next few years. In particular, we are building technologies or seemingly impossible products that define new categories that advance Facebook's mission of bringing the world closer together. We're seeking an insights lead for the Customer Engagement Insights arm of the FRL Marketing Insights team, who demonstrates remarkable ability to harness and translate research findings into actionable marketing plans and strategies across the entirety of the FRL hardware portfolio (Oculus, Portal, AR). This role will bring customer journeys to life in novel, interactive ways - elucidating the relationship between specific touchpoints, messages, audiences, and behaviors across the marketing funnel. The ideal candidate will have exceptional research skills across both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, proven hands-on experience as practitioner and leader, a hunger to drive significant business impact/outcomes, and an interest to remain deeply engaged in the execution of work. The ability to create strong cross-functional partnerships with marketing, sales, retail, creative, and analytics teams is critical - and a passion for technology and Facebook is a must. This person will be the strategic evangelist of outbound marketing insights.

Customer Engagement Insights Research Lead Responsibilities

* Partner with marketing, retail, sales, analytics, and customer experience/service organizations to unearth sales- and sentiment-driving insights across consumer touch points, retailers, and channels.

* Design and execute comprehensive, best-in-class quantitative and qualitative research solutions across outbound marketing (packaging, design, retail insights, creative etc.). Leadership in a range of techniques and methodologies is essential.

* Uncover the needs of customers to influence executional strategy, goals and metrics to ensure line-of-sight to success.

* Translate data insights into actions and recommendations. Core focus will be on GTM marketing strategy and plans, at both a brand and product level, including new product launches.

* Partner with Decision Science to develop hypotheses and comprehensive test and measurement plans, to design and execute experiments to achieve marketing objectives and drive marketing effectiveness.

* Influence decision-making and marketing planning through highly effective communication with all levels of stakeholders, including leadership.

* Develop and ensure cross-functional alignment on research roadmaps and learning plans.

* Ensure the customer and marketing insights are represented in marketing leadership planning discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in marketing/market research with at least 2 years in retail, hospitality, or equivalent consulting experience (proven record of innovating and optimizing marcom pathways to nudge consumer behavior and conversion).

* Methodological expertise in a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods, knows how/when to do a shop-along versus mobile diary, a segmentation versus basic profiling. Proven experience marrying behavioral and secondary data sets with custom ones to create robust, mixed method outputs.

* Experience with developing and leveraging Consumer Journey Maps across the full suite of consumer touchpoints.

* Experience leading insights-driven product/experience launches with GTM execution, driving impact and influencing marketing decision-making across collateral, POS, and guest/customer experiences/designs.

* Experience engaging with cross-functional stakeholders such as Brand Marketing, Communications, Creative teams, Sales, Analytics, Retail, and Customer Experience/Service.

* Experience solving blank slate/undefined problems and well-defined problems with a suitable methodology.

* Intermediate experience with SQL, SPSS (or equivalent statistical package), and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in quickly scaling and prioritizing activities, drive change and collaborate effectively with a variety of partners in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills using storytelling techniques with a proven track record of using insights to influence executives and colleagues.

* Experience managing research studies and programs across multiple global markets.
