DESCRIPTION
AWS Management, Automation, Storage, and Streaming is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager with a strong delivery record to own and manage strategic, cross-functional operations and cloud technology projects. This high-visibility role will require influencing business and software teams across the company and around the world to prioritize projects which support both new products/programs and existing operations and supply chain systems. This will also include establishing cross organization operations metrics, reporting, and process improvement responsibilities.
The desired candidate will possess a strong program and project management background. You will be responsible for developing and executing program management best practices, analyzing and driving performance and operations indicators. You will need to develop new mechanisms to scale our business, nurture relationships across teams, and successfully align senior stakeholders on joint goals. Additional responsibilities include leading benchmark initiatives across the organization, writing project documentation, and driving project schedules and roadmaps. You will make appropriate tradeoffs; communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams. A successful candidate for this position has an ability to drive action across cross-function teams through influence and deliver a cohesive product that satisfies all stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Forming cross-functional project teams, planning and organizing, managing, and executing complex projects across multiple organizations and stakeholders
Partnering with Directors, VPs, and other key operational experts across the company to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives
Project management for software and other deliverables within and across teams
Strategic planning, including budget and capacity planning
Driving technical and operational improvement and security campaigns
Create and communicate new/updated programs, policies, and processes
Engaging in and managing escalations, and
Creating and reporting operational metrics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of Program Management and Technical Project Management experience
Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline degree
7+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
5+ years of experience as a program manager of a highly distributed systems, in an agile development environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or Masters degree in a related field.
Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills paired with hands-on attitude, and excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated bias for action and an ability to deal with ambiguity.
Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority.
Experience with cloud computing services/deployment architecture.
Strong business intelligence and data mining experience.
Experience with Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications.
