DESCRIPTION
We're kicking off exciting initiatives in the AWS Enterprise Engineering organization, and were looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager who's ready to lead the next wave of innovation in Identity and Authentication at Amazon.
We build the software, services, and infrastructure that enable Amazonians across the world to deliver for customers. We are building services that work at massive scale and meet the highest bar for security and availability. Were an AWS-focused, builder-centric organization, focused on using AWS technology to reshape and reinvent foundational infrastructure technologies. Over 900K Amazonians and variable staff rely on our products in 28 regions, 472 corporate offices, more than 350 fulfillment centers, and over 900 total Amazon locations including logistics centers and physical retail stores.
In this role, you will define, scope, and manage the delivery of projects and products from start to finish. Youll work across multiple engineering teams and will own high-visibility software. Your team will build and execute a strategy to meet critical Amazon business and security needs and you will provide regular updates to senior Amazon leaders. Your team will build the front- and back-end software and features that deliver the reliability, performance, and functional capabilities that hundreds of thousands of Amazonians rely on every day. Your work will raise the bar with customer-delighting features, enhanced security, and improved operational excellence for Amazon.
Successful candidates love working directly with software developers and security engineers, understand customer needs, and design systems and solutions that enable our customers to be more productive. You are passionate about the identity, authentication, and security domains and you want to solve real business problems. We have a team culture that encourages innovation and we expect team members and management alike to take high degree of ownership for their program vision and execution of ideas. You will have the opportunity to engage with systems that are at the cutting edge of technology. You will work directly with AWS service teams, infrastructure and administrative teams to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience. You will design and build tooling, drive process improvements and work with service owners and cutting edge technology to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. You can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be a positive influencer across diverse teams, be able to rally support for your initiatives and be able to help deeply technical teams create simple solutions to meet your program goals. You are able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach to build trust with engineers, senior leaders, and executives.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience leading large, ambiguous projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. We also hope you are a passionate learner who welcomes opportunities for mentorship.
