POSITION PURPOSE:
The Concierge will be committed to providing customers and employees with information and resources to have a meaningful shopping experience. They will establish rapport and product confidence with customers and troubleshoot potential issues and resolve existing problems. They will communicate the business brand and solicit customer and employee opinions and suggestions. They develop and maintain good customer and employee relationships. They solicit and enter orders received and provide backup for the reorder process. Responsible for the follow through from the start of a customer order to the deliver and set up of the customer order. They will work with the Department Managers to ensure that the orders are prepared to exact customer specifications. They are responsible for making sure that the order is completed and delivered to the customer on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* When a customer enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest.
* Understanding and knowledge of all catering items from catering brochure in addition to platters not included in brochure such as items from seafood, bakery and sushi.
* Required knowledge of amounts to order in correlation with the number of customers in catered party.
* Must poses knowledge of how to pair foods that complement each other.
* Responsible for placing orders with each corresponding departments that have been ordered by customers. Copies are kept of all catering orders placed to assure consistency of order, price structure, pick up times, and special request.
* Follows through with all catering orders, pulling daily orders first thing in the morning and double checking with catering staff that all orders are on the board for the day.
* Responsible along with the catering staff go over each order to assure that any special orders or requests are noted. He/she also assures that each order is ready on time for customer pick up.
* In addition to food orders, concierge will tie in all aspects of the store including floral, bakery, wine and Dish, for the customer's total party planning needs.
* Establishes outside sources for party set-up and serving staff to provide our guest with full service catering.
* Assist Store Director with the planning and ordering of Market Street donation events.
* Contact organization to discuss needs and plan event to stay within Market Streets allocated budget limit.
* Assist Store Director with fulfilling catering donations and follow up with payment reimbursement to participating departments.
* Contact organization to discuss needs and plan event to stay within Market Streets allocated budget limit.
* Keep track of the cost of all donation events to report to Store Director.
* Performs other duties as requested or required by upper management.

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SCOPE DATA:

* Entire Store

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education Level:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Some College preferred.
* Must maintain state Food Handler's Permit.
* Food Safety Certification required.

Experience Level:

* Must be 18 years or older.
* 1 -2 years of hospitality experience preferred.

Skills and Experiences:

* Food, kitchen, or catering service background.
* Must have a passion for food.
* Culinary, Event Planning, or Hospitality degree a plus.
* Available 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm to take and place orders for our customers.
* Perform all other physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking.
* Must be able to work at a fast, efficient and controlled manner.
* Must maintain a current Food Safety Certification.
* Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

* Travel to outside customers events.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

* Required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend and stoop.
* Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
* Be able to perform all physical aspects of the position, such as bending, squatting, climbing and walking.
* Work a flexible schedule including evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays.

In 1939, Joe Albertson, a former Safeway district manager, took $5,000 he saved and $7,500 he borrowed from his wife’s Aunt Bertie, and partnered with L.S. Skaggs to open his first Albertsons store on 16th and State Streets in Boise, Idaho. determination to run the best store, the first store thrived. Just two years later, he had opened two other stores in neighboring communities and grew the fledgling company’s sales to over $1 million by the end of 1941.
