## The Opportunity

Do you have a passion for data and analytics? Would you enjoy helping diverse teams solve a variety of interesting, ever-changing problems? As a member of the Enterprise Data Consulting team, the Senior Data Analyst will serve as a trusted advisor to business analytics teams across Ally, including Auto Finance and Ally Bank. You will be a change agent, conducting current state assessments and providing recommendations informed by best practices, assisting partners with migrating and refactoring as information technology continues to modernize and systems evolve. You can break down and organize complex ideas, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills, and hone presentations to target audiences with varied capabilities and experiences. You possess a robust data, data warehousing, and business intelligence background with strong, hands-on problem-solving experiences. You are comfortable learning new technologies and systems, gaining or possessing discernment, and being a domain specialist. You have a great work ethic, deliver results on multiple projects with an attention to detail by working with internal and external partners, and can innovate with a customer-service mentality. You will deliver reporting and analytics solutions and consult with business partners to enable their use of data.

## The Work Itself

* Analyze current-state solutions, largely SQL and SAS code, and recommend target-state, remediation solutions
* Provide data consulting, training, and knowledge transfer for legacy and new data solutions and analytical environments
* Disposition customer requests for business analysis, data analysis, and business intelligence support
* Deliver support, including data exploration, innovation, and storytelling, and enable customers to self-serve
* Develop and test data, reporting, and analytics solutions, often ad hoc, meeting business partner requirements
* Become a domain specialist and use technical knowledge and discernment, creativity, and partner engagement to enable solutions to complex, time-sensitive problems
* May collaborate with senior management to convey information.

## The Skills You Bring

* BS in Computer Science, Math, engineering, or business and 3+ years or equivalent work experience
* At least 3 years of experience conducting data analysis
* Excellent SQL programming skills; SAS, R/Python, scripting, and JAVA are a plus
* At least 3 years of experience with Business Intelligence technologies such as Thoughtspot, Power BI and Cognos
* Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS ( S3 and Lambda) and Snowflake is a plus
* Experience with data visualization, testing, quality, and preparation of analytics end products
* Proven success working with business partners and support their data needs
* Business analysis background, strong problem-solving ability, can apply general organizational knowledge of the business and systems processes to problem analysis
* At least 3 years of experience working in the Auto Finance Banking or Financial Services sector
* Comfortable conducting end user training, creative direction, teamwork and time management as well as Agile methodologies
