Position Description

We are looking for experienced, hands-on Senior DevSecOps Engineer to be part of our team to help identify and realize automation opportunities on our platforms. Your knowledge and experience with cloud platforms (OpenShift) and Containers will help us initiate migration of key business applications. Your technical expertise (bash, python, groovy) and knowledge on operations, security and development will enable us to automate manual processes providing quicker feedback and operational efficiencies. You will also support an internal toolset used for developer enablement and deployment of software.

Ideal candidate will be well-experienced in cloud space and someone who is innovative and can code/script when existing tools are not enough. Independent thinking and being hands-on will be key to be successful in this position.

Job Responsibilities

Support a large developer staff with CI/CD pipeline activities

Support all environments (including production) in a 24x7 rotating shift model

Support code deployments, quality scanning and operational defect analysis

Continuously ensure infrastructure is safe and secure and introduce pro-active safety measures

Automate repetitive manual tasks preferably with existing tools

Delight our customers (Development/Operations/Business) by quickly resolving issues and meeting agreed upon SLAs

Assess, plan and communicate steady state upgrades/patches to key stakeholders and senior management

Support operational reporting, SLA management and the continuity of business/disaster recovery capabilities in the 24x7 sustain operational model

Oversee end to end availability of all application and infrastructure components

Participate in Discovery Phase to assist with scoping effort for application teams

Act as single point of contact for Ally business users for platform availability

Support homegrown and COTS databases on Oracle, SQL Server and exadata

Ensure all activities are managed per Ally IT methodology and processes

Review and approve root cause analysis and preventative action items

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

3+ years of IT infrastructure experience

Experience with at least one programming language - Java, Groovy, Python, etc.

Experience migrating existing applications to cloud - AWS, Red Hat Openshift

Experience with at least one configuration management tool - Ansible, Chef, Salt, Puppet

Experience with Infrastructure Provisioning tools like Terraform and Cloud formation

Experience and knowledge of Containers (Docker) and Container Orchestration (Kubernetes)

Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD Pipelines - Jenkins, uDeploy, GitLab, AWS Code Pipeline

Experience with one or more VCS Git, SVN

Experience with Enterprise monitoring tools Splunk, AppDynamics

Experience with supporting Application Servers like JBoss, Tomcat, Apache

Knowledge or experience with code quality tools like SonarQube, CheckMarx, Rapid7, and Atlassian Suite

Broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop technical solutions with a consultative approach

Working knowledge of all aspects of the development life cycle and an exposure to various current software development methodology approaches.

Proficiency with incident management, root cause analysis and resolving production application issues with both short term and long-term solutions

Proficient with standard development tools

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work items appropriately

Ability to manage and support enterprise business applications by leveraging internal and external teams along with third-party vendor solution
