## The Opportunity

Position will manage a team of sourcing professionals to drive progressive sourcing and category strategies in close collaboration and partnership with Ally's Information Protection, Enterprise Data Analytics and Enterprise Technology teams.

Responsible for all aspects of team activities, advising organizational and process change to optimize performance and mitigate risk. Handle and coach strategic projects through all phases. Responsible for leading and controlling scope, quality and schedule while being responsible for all team activities and performance. Pivotal role in developing and nurturing close partnerships and relationships to develop progressive and high impact supply chain strategies that support, advance and propel key business goals and strategies. Ensures team consistently and efficiently6 creates, communicates and executes all strategic sourcing programs while constantly looking for ways to improve business relationships and operational performance through robust critical metric and operational management techniques.

Leader will also ensure complete, accurate and proactive management of all contract inventories, P2P system/project updates, data quality metrics, service levels, supplier risk assessments, and sourcing events.

## The Work Itself

* Manage a team of supply chain professionals responsible for driving industry-leading and progressive sourcing and supplier strategies in direct support of Ally's businesses
* Candidate will have main responsibility of developing, improving and sustaining successful business partnerships with key business line leaders across several critical areas
* Candidate will be a recognized and valued specialist in the types of spend categories and key suppliers that support the business line and will proactively develop strategies to improve service quality, lower costs and drive innovation through key supply chain partners supporting the business
* Will lead all sourcing/procurement activity with a select group of high exposure and critical supplier relationships in support of business lines
* Identify and collaborate with a variety of internal colleagues and workgroups critical to executing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, handling third party relationships and onboarding/offboarding supplier partners -- e.g., Ally Legal group, Information Security, Third Party Risk Management, HR, Data Privacy, Compliance, Financial Planning and Analysis, CFOs, Supply Chain Shared Services, other Sourcing Managers, Leaders and team members, etc.
* Lead/facilitate highly effective fact-based sourcing processes and negotiation strategies to maximize business value and risk mitigation.
* Work with business partners to maximize compliance and optimize spend against established and preferred engagement procedures, buying channels, supplier contracts and related programs.
* Support the end-to-end management of issues and disputes, risk management, contract inventory management, performance and scorecard management
* Identify and implement consistent and continuous process, policy and performance improvement programs across all areas of responsibility
* Create and maintain an environment of transparency, performance and risk management that encourages innovation, integrity and teamwork.

## The Skills You Bring

* Bachelor's degree required, MBA or JD strongly preferred
* Minimum of 7+ years of strategic sourcing, mediation and other relevant procurement management experience preferably within the financial services industry, supporting traditional areas of technology spend in IT professional services, business applications and software solutions hosted internally and externally
* Experience with direct management of staff and remote teams
* Extensive experience leading highly sophisticated and challenging sourcing projects, running RFx's/auctions and negotiating large, complex third party supply contracts
* Very strong analytical ability to develop, analyze and present sophisticated cost models, business cases, and strategic plans
* Must possess very strong persuasion and individual communication skills
* Comfortable working in an evolving and dynamic business environment with ability to seamlessly multi-task
* Demonstrated ability to consistently and productively handle large projects, difficult situations, and client and/or vendor negotiations
* Ability to organize data and exercise highly effective problem-solving skills.
* Ability to build very strong relationships with internal business partners and experience working with multiple business partners in a collaborative and team-directed manner.
