JOB SUMMARY

This role will provide material support in the sheet metal department by utilizing a forklift and a crane to move steel around.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):

1. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing bundles of steel in stock; recording location of inventory.

2. Locates steel by using micrometers and steel guides, verifying gauge and steel type

3. Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory

4. Handling returns by completing a safe assessment and other required communication.

5. Receives all documentation from steel deliveries .

6. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; and notifying maintenance with any issues .

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* High School Diploma/GED

* At least 18 years old

* Possess basic knowledge of world class logistics and division material flow

* Previous forklift experience

* Strong attention to detail

* Ability to stand for extended periods of time

* Ability to routinely lift 40+ pounds or more

* Strong analytical skills

* Ability to work independently and in a team environment

* Effective communication skills

* Basic computer skills are required to be successful in this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

0-2 years of materials, inventory experience or forklift experience

0-2 years experience in a continuous improvement environment
