As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk or Independent Risk Management provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
This position is for an experienced Compliance Associate to provide Fair Lending Compliance regulatory oversight, issue management reporting, and completion of other Fair Lending Compliance governance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous enhancement, implementation, and monitoring of a risk-based fair lending compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal, and regulatory requirements and the Wells Fargo Fair Lending Policy.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Work with complex business and/or special programs; providing compliance and operational risk expertise and consulting for special projects and initiatives with high risk to identify and mitigate fair lending risk.
* Work with project managers and business partners to design and establish oversight processes for newly developed programs or requirements, and as needed develop and implement oversight and control solutions.
* Prepare associated fair lending related reports as needed.
* Provide support for issues management related activities.
* Provide applicable regulatory source expertise and maintenance.
* Monitor status of Fair Lending reviews in progress and those completed along with any associated corrective action.
* Collaborate with key fair lending stakeholders.
Salary range is determined by the location of the job.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management

* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
Other Desired Qualifications
* An active status in one or more of the following: Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation
* Experience providing leadership within a virtual environment and effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
* Extensive understanding of the Fair Lending laws and/or the WFC Fair Lending Policy
* Solid interpersonal skills necessary to interact with front lines of defense, business line management, and regulatory examiners.
