Location/Division Specific Information

The Marietta Manufacturing site is a part of the Laboratory Products Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and enhance quality of life. Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.

How will you make an impact?
You will perform provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility(s).

What will you do?

* Deliver or route materials to departments; operate equipment such as fork truck, order picker, reach truck, company vehicle(s) etc., when trained and/or authorized/licensed to do so.
* Fill pick orders accurately and timely to ensure production demands are supported and customer-specific instructions are met.
* Mark or read/compare identifying information such as location, part numbers, description, quantity, etc.
* Operate scanner system to maintain inventory, parts, processing orders, shipping status, etc.
* Read work orders computerized/written or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material or equipment needs.
* Utilize computer to enter, retrieve, track, generate labels, ship customer orders and gather information related to material movement and department goals.
* Work with others to accomplish best flow of materials and information throughout work area, and plant wide.
* Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
* Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to operators or supervisors.
* Identify items that have expiration dates and rotate accordingly.
* Perform count on designated parts to be moved and adjusts errors when needed.
* Record numbers of units/materials moved, using daily reports such as spreadsheets and log sheets. Record details related to packing boxes for shipment to customers on shop copy of packing list for future reference when/if needed.

How will you get here?

Education
* High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Experience

* Minimum of 2 years of related experience preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
* Standing, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job.
* Frequently lifts up to 40 pounds.
* Proficient computer skills
