JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for providing technician support as part of a Raytheon Intelligence and Space IOT team working at the RMD Program Managers discretion. This position requires work under limited supervision for a wide range of assignments requiring a diverse skillset and an adaptable personality. Assignments will cover a broad range of activities from production ROTHR system equipment installs through supporting experimental ROTHR activities. Person will implement non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are at times unconventional. This job will require a nonstandard, flexible work schedule with moderate to significant travel based on assignments. Must have excellent communications skills, experience within ROTHR program, and significant understanding of the system. Will be asked to implement a wide range of task from logistics through component level fault isolation/repair with limited oversite. Will also provide support in development of training material for various audiences as well as play a support role in revising ROTHR documentation. The selected candidate will be responsible for duties to include (but not limited to):

* Review/support logistics and procurement activities...receive, inspect, inventory, stage shipments, and store equipment IAW ROTHR and Raytheon local policies
* Review system outage logs to identify root cause of outage, extended recovery duration, failure trends, and/or potential system performance vulnerabilities
* 24/7 Support to ROTHR O&M for troubleshooting and system recovery
* Support equipment warranty claims on behalf of ROTHR with COTS Manufacturers
* Assemble/build components, harnesses, equipment racks, subsystems, specified test configurations, etc as assigned for support of various task
* Perform technical documentation review, generate redlines, and address comments
* Conduct bench level setup, testing, troubleshooting and repair of various ROTHR equipment/components and perform component level repair/rework as needed
* Support training on ROTHR equipment, assemblies, subsystems, and overall system at local and remote sites/locations at times requiring travel
* Support preparation and implementation of assigned task for system enhancements, obsolescence replacements, repairs, etc. at local and remote sites requiring travel
* Provide support as assigned to ROTHR groups for implementation of test scenarios and experiments at times requiring travel
* Create support diagrams, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance procedures for equipment installed during system enhancements

This position will report to the RI&S ROTHR IOT Team Leader coordinating assignments from the RMD Program Manager.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position requires a U.S. Security Clearance.

REQUIRED SKILLS

* 3+ years of experience directly related to ROTHR Operations and Maintenance with an emphasis on system operation, performance of corrective, preventive and intermediate level maintenance, site level troubleshooting, bench component level troubleshooting/repair, maintenance tracking and logistics support
* Soldering, Micro Miniature Repair, Raychem splicing and termination, building cannon plug terminations, building standard and custom cables for data and power, fiber-optic fusion splicing and termination, operation of electronic test equipment, including RF and fiber optic power meters; digital and analog oscilloscopes; spectrum, network and logic analyzers; digital and analog multi-meters. Communications test equipment such as BER testers and signal breakout devices
* Computer literate, including Open VMS, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, Microsoft Office, Cisco, Visio, and various other software systems and applications.
* Some familiarity with system enhancement support, testing, data collections, and data transfer
* Some experience supporting field experiments to include setup and operation of nonstandard equipment and test scenarios in collaboration external groups or teams
* Provide remote ROTHR troubleshooting and recovery support without access to the system
* Experience developing and providing training for various audiences
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
* Demonstrated ability to execute assignments with limited supervision
* Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written modes, and be able to present ROTHR specific presentations
* Proficiency with test equipment for; HF RF equipment, Fiber Optic, networking, etc.
* Ability to quickly learn and master nonstandard equipment operation, test concepts, and use new technology to support unconventional equipment/subsystem/system use applications within ROTHR

DESIRED SKILLS

* Experience supporting IOT activities to include installation, testing, fault isolation, and repair of equipment that is not supported solely by manufacturers' manuals; i.e. equipment obsolescence and upgrades early in lifecycle
* Experience in technical role at ROTHR Receive, Transmit, and/or Consolidated Operations and Control Center
* Advanced understanding of radar concepts/principles
* Proficient with server clusters and peripherals
* Certifications such as: Fiber Optic repair, 2m Solder repair, forklift operation

REQUIRED EDUCATION

* Electronics Associates Degree or 6 years of equivalent relevant experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

* U.S. Citizenship is required.
* Active and current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance is desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
* Must meet eligibility requirements for access to a military installation.
* Must have a clean motor vehicle record to obtain authorization to operate company vehicles.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
