The Whole Life Engineering (WLE) Mission Sustainment Department is made up of several disciplines whose main goal is to impact hardware and systems early in their life cycle to ensure effective operation, reliability, maintainability, testability, and economical ownership by the customer and end user. We have a need for a Section Manager (SM) to join our team, primarily focused on Depot Repairs, Sustaining Engineering, Reliability and System Safety.
The SM will lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers that provide depot repairs, sustaining engineering, reliability, maintainability, and safety engineering work products across RNRS programs. The SM will deploy section personnel to ensure program requirements are achieved, and to serve as a communication conduit with Program Leadership and other WLE Department SMs. This position requires the SM to provide the key team members and decision-making necessary to achieve program results. In addition to the SM responsibilities the candidate will be responsible for developing competitive, forward-looking strategy and plans to grow the depot repair, sustaining engineering, and RMSS capabilities across Secure Sensor Solutions Product Lines. Responsibilities include:
Section Management / Leadership
* Lead discipline subject matter experts to improve synergy across WLE disciplines and with other groups, to achieve program requirements within budget/schedule commitments.
* Assist program, functional, and business management in making informed decisions regarding WLE disciplines.
* Collaborate on the development of processes, templates and best-practices for effective reliability within the organization
* Mentor personnel on technical and/or leadership skills to achieve career growth.
* Provide direction, vision, and training to each member of the section to foster growth of Raytheon's expertise in WLE disciplines.
* Guide staffing and performance development activities with direct reports.
Sustaining Engineering/Depot Repairs Subject Matter Expert
* Lead WLE engineers' activities through multiple program phases; proposal, development, production, and sustainment.
* Lead Depot repairs and sustaining engineering activities.
* Develop maintainability analyses (e.g. mean time to repair (MTTR), maintenance task analysis)
* Effectively communicate, both written and orally, with a diverse group of people including program ownership, proposal management and customers, and represent WLE in technical meetings and program reviews
Required Skills:
* Minimum 10 years related experience
* Experience leading teams with demonstrated results
* Extensive experience in system test and integration
* Possess good technical writing and oral communication skills, and possess strong people and change agent skills
* Familiarity with Reliability, System Safety, Logistics, Maintainability, and Human Systems Integration
* An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
Desired Skills:
* Experience in Systems Engineering, the product development life cycle, system trades, and requirements flowdown and allocation.
* Experience navigating Raytheon business development gating process
* Experience with capture efforts, specifically leading Depot Repairs segments
* Ability to effectively coordinate multiple resources, multitask in a fast paced environment, and work under limited supervision.
* Active DoD Top Secret or SSBI Clearance
