Your Team

Prudential Group Insurance underwriting division is looking for an experienced Group Life and Disability Underwriter to support Premier Account market segment supporting employer groups of 100 to 4,999 employees. The person in this position will be primarily accountable for underwriting Group Life/Disability Proposals and Inforce accounts in accordance with statutory regulations and existing underwriting policies and practices, analyzing cases and making and communicating decisions in a manner which contributes to the profitability of the product, the reputation of the company and attainment of strategic business goals. This person functions independently and focuses more externally to resolve issues while making intelligent risk decisions.

The role

Functions as an independent and experienced underwriter primarily on non complex cases with limited supervision and/or to perform the Quality review work on said cases. Determines whether to accept modify or decline a risk through evaluation of the clients employee census data claims history and other pertinent information within guidelines. Manages assigned portfolio and communicates decisions. Works with brokers and clients to discuss financial results and to support the negotiation process. Periodically provides research input or analysis on matters of policy and process as part of a team. Possesses sound foundation in underwriting principles. Demonstrates proficiency in developing client reporting and insights into trends and drivers of results and the ability to make recommendations for desired outcomes. Typically have 5 to 7 years of experience.

Your Expertise

What youll need to succeed:

* A minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience involving Life, Disability, AD&D or Accident products.
* Proficient with in Microsoft Excel
* Strong mathematical skills

Itd be a plus if you have:

* Bachelors degree

Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: $74,000-100,000+ discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
