The candidate for this position will be a key member of a diverse team of developers working on a series of investment related applications utilizing various technologies. The candidate will be responsible to support all phases of the system development and implementation process including analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance. Other responsibilities include:
* Consults with functional management in the analysis of short- and long-range business requirements and recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements.
* Coordinates activities with other data processing unit heads (e.g., data base, telecom/network, operations, technical support, etc.).
* Prepares activity, progress, and performance reports for the Team.
* Contributes towards application availability, health checks, performance management and business continuation.
* Leads, supervises, or assists with incident and problem resolution activities.
* Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business operations and results.
* Provides leadership to professional staff through projects with notable risk and complexity.
* May be regarded as a technical expert in their field.
* The candidate will also function in a production support role for the area, and some off-hour support will be required.
Qualifications
The selected individual must understand the Software Development Lifecycle and a minimum of 10 to 12+ years of relevant experience in Investment Systems, Trade management systems, Accounting Systems, or other related analytical software.
* Strong knowledge of financial products including equity, fixed income, FX and derivatives.
* Proficient in performance and risk analytics.
* Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
* Experience with BlackRock Aladdin implementation and support.
* Strong experience solving moderate to complex business problems.
* Proven program and change management experience including the ability to work across organizations to integrate and deliver work.
* Application development project management experience.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including strong communication (written & verbal).
* Proficient PC computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Software Development and Database Management tools.
* Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working under tight time constraints.
* Ability to manage expectations and relationships with superiors and business partners.
* Self-motivated, independent worker.
* Strong sense of ownership in their work.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related IT field OR equivalent relevant experience
