Principal is going all in with AWS and has created a newly formed Cloud Platform Engineering team focused on Data Solutions! As a Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in enabling our enterprise to mature as a data driven organization. This role will work closely with the community of engineers and product teams to help contribute to and influence the adoption of AWS at Principal. We are looking for an engineer who has a passion for data, to assist us in providing guidance and support as we navigate our journey from on-prem to cloud-based solutions. Qualificationsnn
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experiencen
* 3+ years of professional object oriented programming, data engineering or cloud experience n
* Working knowledge of AWS cloud platformnn

Additional preferred technical experience:

nn
* Strong software engineering background including, but not limited to: n n
* Solving problems by capturing user requirements, defining system functionalities, and developing testable code in various languagesn
* Experience in improving operations, documenting and demonstrating solutions and ensuring software is updated and securen
* Design and develop software and systems that meet user needs and comply with project and industry standardsn n
* Familiarity with data solutionsn
* Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, test-driven development, etc.n
* Strong written and verbal communicationnn
