As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for developing the business side of the organization by identifying rising business opportunities and building what will become long-term relationships with prospects in order to increase company revenue and improve profits.
Key Responsibilities
* Understands the customer requirements and will work with the Regional Sales Manager to make vital business arrangements to meet needs of customers.
* Collaborate with sales and account teams to ensure requirements are met (such as sales numbers and profit goals) while implementing business development initiatives to achieve sales objectives and profitability.
* Increases existing customer share to meet sales expectations and builds strong working relationships with new customers to increase the potential business opportunities.
* Uses the CRM to document all activity and manage their accounts through the sales process; prepare relevant reports for various business development activities.
* Strong communication skills in order to communicate, present, assert and speak to different stakeholders involved. Must be able to cold call prospects with confidence in order to gain new clients.
* Strong collaboration skills with multiple parties from inside and outside the company. The BDR must be able to build relationships, influence, manage conflicts and navigate through ambiguity or roadblocks in order to get things done.
* Must be tactful and diplomatic at all times, able to influence and compromise.
* BDRs are project managers able to set goals, plan and manage projects, manage the risks involved, calculate budgets, cost, time and teams working on ongoing projects.
* Strong research and strategic analysis skills are necessary in order to benchmark competition and develop new prospects through referrals, networking, online research, and outbound calls.
* Knowing all about your business services and products is essential for BDR. Knowing everything about your competition as well will provide you with the leverage you need to win. A BDR will use PPGs resources to conduct the necessary market analysis needed to identify the companys current position. The BDR will conduct an analysis of what competitive advantage the company has over the similar businesses in the sector. BDRs must be able to collect the data they need in order to prepare an accurate analysis.
* In addition to all of the above-mentioned skills, BDRs are always hungry for knowledge. They like to stay up-to-date with the latest economic issues in the industry. They are organized and working under constant pressure is a part of a BDRs routine.
* BDRs will prepare sales presentations and business proposals as well as participate in trade shows, sales meetings, and webinars and training sessions.
* Continually maintain and enhance personal knowledge as it relates to the curriculum and market. Incumbent is expected to hone training skills and knowledge base to provide quality training as well as provide feedback to curriculum developers. BDR will leverage Skill Director and the Commercial Excellence teams to gain insight and knowledge on selling techniques.
Qualifications:
* A Bachelors degree or relative experience in sales or business development
* Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Sales
* A deep understanding of current and emerging market trends.
* Strong analytical abilities and skills to evaluate and recommend alternative solutions
* Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively participate in teams
* Ability to work in a matrix organization with strong influencing skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms
* Expert understanding of service and product, and ability to innovate new ways the product can serve customers
* Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities
* Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
* Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments
