Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities of the Scrap Yard Millwright include but are not limited to:
Developing, promoting and executing safe work practices
Maintain all Scrap Yard Equipment
Successfully complete all required training and development programs
Support and exceed all housekeeping expectations in the area
Troubleshooting and repairs to hydraulics, power train and lubrication systems
Support Melt Shop and Roll Mill maintenance wherever needed
This position is responsible for all preventative, routine and breakdown maintenance on all equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical Certification or Degree
Minimum Qualifications:
2 Year hands-on work experience in mobile or industrial mechanical maintenance
Must be able to perform all essential fuctions of the job with or without reasonable accomodation

This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
