Audience Development Editor - The US Sun

The Sun Online is one of the biggest news brands in the UK - and still growing! - with a young, talented, diverse team who publishes the best coverage of news, sport, TV and showbiz, and lifestyle. Last year we launched a team in the US, with ambitious plans for growth, and are looking for a first-class audience development editor to join us.

Purpose of role: To build the audience of The US Sun's website through social media and push notifications.
Key accountabilities:
* Play a key role in the ongoing development and execution of The US Sun'saudience strategy.
* Edit and maintain The US Sun's social media channels to a high standard in closeconjunction with the rest of the team.
* Contribute to The US Sun's adoption of emerging social platforms and tools, andtake responsibility for the growth of The US Sun's new social channels.
* Make recommendations to journalists and section heads through the day abouttrending search terms and relevant keywords.
* As a team, ensure the newsroom has sufficient insight to produce internet-friendlystories, and take responsibility for their subsequent distribution on social mediachannels.
* Manage The US Sun's relationship with third-party platforms and aggregators.Manage The US Sun's push notification strategy.
* Focus on targets and be clear on what is required in order to meet them.
* Work flexibly, including evening and weekend shifts.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Editorial background ideally with experience in a digital publishing environment
* Good understanding of the principles of editorial social media and SEO
