Supervises Surety Claims Support and administrative activities. Collaborates with management to develop and monitor operating and quality standards for unit. Responsible for coordinating and administering support functions within an assigned office(s). Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal policies. Supervises staff and responsible for hiring, training, development and evaluation/adjustment of performance. Collaborates with and ensures that the unit develops and maintains business relationships with Surety claims, internal service partners, and external clients.

Responsibilities:
* Supervises and develops a high-performance team of Claims Assistants responsible for performing claim processing as well as general office support and administrative tasks.
* Mentors and monitors progress and development of direct reports.
* Performs high level transactions within the claims department, which may include, assisting with claims deemed more complex in nature, assisting with complex lawsuit research and set up, managing the LMS claims and legal holds inbox, SuretyLEX inbox and the job aid repository, being a point of contact for internal and external service vendors and/or other tasks as deemed necessary.
* Responsibilities for Claims Assistants include selection, training (e.g. processes, procedures, systems), objective setting, performance evaluations, salary reviews and employee development. Monitors operating, quality and performance standards for unit.
* Supports operational functions (internal and external customer service and reporting analysis).
* Collaborates with manager to drive consistency throughout the organization by ensuring processes, workflows, and policies are followed.
* Provides input to streamline process, develop workflow efficiencies, along with, collaboration and implementation with other stakeholders.
* Develops and improves standard work across zones to reinforces consistency among zone. Constantly collaborates with other zones to provide cross-training and develop a one team approach.
* Prepares reports and maintains dashboards for management as directed.
* Participates in and may lead special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Associates Degree or equivalent preferred. 5 or more years of progressive work experience within Surety, preferably covering multiple product lines, or equivalent experience is expected.
* Advanced knowledge of surety rating procedures, systems/workflows and/or previous supervisory or leadership experience.
* Ability to get work done through others, analyze/solve problems, build relationships, and plan/assign/organize/evaluate work of staff members.
* Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including listening, and presenting information clearly and confidently.
* Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 15%).
