Job Description:
We currently have an opportunity for a Calibration Manager to manage the division's equipment calibration activities, performed by our in-house lab as well as outside vendors. In this challenging position you will lead a team of hourly employees performing calibration of RF and electronic equipment, and be responsible for the efficient, cost-effective management of our calibration functions to meet contractual quality, cost, schedule, and specification requirements. Other responsibilities will include:
* Serving as a liaison with Engineering staff members to ensure that specifications are met
* Managing relationships with outside calibration vendors
* Creating and monitoring performance metrics to ensure that business needs are addressed
* Developing and implementing corrective actions, as well as strategies to ensure continuous improvement in processes and procedures
* Providing technical and procedural guidance to employees in the resolution of problems
* Working with product line and support department personnel and customer representatives in the resolution of calibration-related issues.
Qualifications
* At least nine years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, to include RF engineering, metric development, and leading improvements; electronics or defense industry experience preferred.
* A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
* Familiarity with calibrated equipment and calibration processes
* Project management experience
* Effective written and verbal communication skills are needed
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications is required
* Skills in data collection and organization, as well as analysis tools
* Experience with MRP systems and business financial measures
* Supervisory experience preferred; experience in a union environment is desirable.
