L3Harris is currently seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to provide technical support on Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The System Engineer is responsible for supporting the life-cycle of wide-band data link systems from conceptual development through product phase-out.
During the operational life-cycle of the system, responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: proposal support, participation in requirements management, project planning, technical documentation (Statements of Work, specifications, test plans and procedures, etc), subcontract control, risk management, design consultation and oversight, build and test support, in-house technical support, and system deployment.
Qualifications:
A BSEE and 1 year experience is required (or equivalent technical degree with 4+ years of directly related work experience in a relevant engineering environment). Required skills are listed below:
* Working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design and software development for satellite and/or line of sight communication systems
* Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
* Microsoft suite of tools including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
Preference will be given to candidates with the technical skills/knowledge listed below:
* Solid understanding of communication theory
* Cisco router configuration experience
* Networking software design experience and knowledge, including various network protocols specific to internet, routing, communication, security, and management
The following areas of experience/exposure are a plus:
* High-rate communication systems, satellite communication systems, spread spectrum systems, communication networks, SONET transmission systems and higher layers of the OSI model
* Electrical engineering design
* System verification and validation
* Requirements management and documentation (using DOORS or equivalent)
* Risk management and project planning
Special Requirements: Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must have and be able to maintain a DoD security clearance. Candidate must be able and willing to travel within and outside the United States.
