Position Overview
As a General Superintendent in Kiewit Foundations Co. you will supervise specialty/deep foundations projects. In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Perform daily inspections of work for Safety, Quality and Productivity. Assure proper planning and communication is happening for all operations that you oversee. Identify and solve problems that arise. Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel. Establish quality standards of all jobs and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met. Develop and manage job schedules (e.g. three-week, 90-day, man loading), coordinate work with other crafts, departments, contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities
* Responsible for controlling costs and maintaining profitability in the superintendents discipline
* Examines drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensure current information is passed down to front line supervision
* Schedules crews according to available work packages for the project and all required equipment and materials necessary to complete the task
* Conducts regular inspections of craft work and quality as well as ensure installation is per specification
* Assists foremen in maintaining safe workplace
* Monitor timely delivery of necessary materials and schedules necessary, Company equipment to assure continued productivity
* Conducts regular safety meetings with craft employees addressing specific work areas and conditions that require attention stressing compliance with Company and regulatory safety procedures
* Recognizing, documenting and reporting delays
* Coordinates with engineers, client/owner, inspectors, etc. to isolate problems and assists in developing solutions to these problems
* Coordinates work activities and installations with other craft supervision to assure productivity and to eliminate conflicts in the field
* Ensure training and development of craft supervisors and employees
* Promote positive employee relations with all employees and management by treating all employees with dignity and respect
* Ensure subordinate personnel comply with company policies and procedures
* Administer discipline as needed in a fair and consistent manner
* Resolve/diffuse issues using open communication with employees and management
Qualifications
* Must have a minimum of 10 years experience as a superintendent specifically in the specialty foundation and/or geotechnical construction industry
* Must be able to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications for railroad / transit construction and maintenance requirements
* Working knowledge of various construction disciplines and safety regulations and how to apply them
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Understanding of cost management processes, planning and scheduling
