Responsibilities

We are seeking Behavioral Health Specialists (LCSW) who work to support the clinical care model by providing quality clinical mental health assessments, treatment and consultation.

We have open LCSW opportunities at various clinic sites throughout the US including Florida (statewide), Louisiana (statewide), San Antonio and Houston, Texas, Upstate S. Carolina, Atlanta, GA, Kansas City, MO/KS, and Las Vegas, NV.

The Behavioral Health Specialist 2 (LCSW) employs a variety of strategies, approaches and techniques to manage a member's physical, environmental and psychosocial health issues. Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for screening, assessing and formulating clinical treatment recommendations for patients with possible behavioral health and or substance use disorders. The Behavioral Health Specialists works as an integral part of the primary care team and makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. The main responsibilities of the role are:

* Develops a comprehensive knowledge of Humanas Care Delivery Organization strategy, best practices and tools.
* Provides quality clinical consultation to providers and staff regarding patients mental and behavioral health and how it may be directly connected to the patients medical conditions
* Conducts psychosocial assessments and formulates diagnoses and treatment plans to address and treat mental health and substance abuse comorbidities
* Provides therapy and behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques with follow up support
* Provides psychoeducation for patients and their support systems
* Completes clinical documentation including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and coding and billing
* Collaborates with and supports clinic level resource programs such as resource social worker, care coach and clinical pharmacist
* Ensures adherence to defined policy, procedures and licensing standards based on federal, state, and local requirements
* Assists leadership with behavioral health initiatives, workflows and training of new Behavioral Health Specialist

Required Qualifications:

* Masters Social Work
* LCSW or equivalent for the state required
* 3+ years healthcare system experience in a clinic setting
* Working knowledge of differential diagnosis of common mental health and/or substance abuse disorders (DSM5, ICD10)
* Experience with assessments and formulating diagnoses and treatment plans for common mental health and/or substance abuse disorders
* Working knowledge of and experience with evidence-based treatments modalities and behavioral health interventions for common mental health disorders
* Effectively meet and exceed customer needs; build productive relationships with physicians, internal customers, and takes responsibility for customer loyalty and satisfaction
* Work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the CDO Team establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Must have strong team orientation and collaboration. Seek to achieve common goals that contribute to the overall success of the organization
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal/verbal communication and consultation skills
* Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced changing environments
* Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access
* Ability to travel between clinic locations
* This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humanas Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
* This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bilingual, Fluent in English/Spanish
* Ideally over three years of clinical experience - specifically integrated health and or mental health based operations with diverse populations
* Trained in mental health, substance abuse, trauma informed care, social systems, geriatric mental health, cultural humility/competence and familial aspects of psychological and medical conditions including evidence-based treatment techniques
