Join us as a Big Data Platform Architect on our Data Platform Services (DPS) team in US (Round Rock, TX or Remote US) to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact. DPS supports all process lifecycles of Dells business, which consists of 8000+ distinct integration patterns that facilitate 200M+ business events a day. DPS helps Dell Digital to embrace Data Management Platform/technologies that are disrupting industries globally.

What youll achieve

As a Big Data Platform Architect, you will translate business requirements into custom technical solutions and be a part of a team that will design and build highly scalable solutions. This role will give you an ability to utilize your strong technical leadership, drive complex cross-functional, transformational and build on your passion to solve critical business challenges.

You will:

* Architect and implement Massively Parallel Processing Big Data cluster using Greenplum/Teradata/Hadoop that is scalable for ingesting, transforming, persistence, and query petabytes of data.
* Define the Greenplum/Teradata/Hadoop big data architectural blueprint for the cluster including hardware, software, storage, and networking.
* Responsible for setting up the infrastructure, defining big data pipelines for data ingestion, data transformation, and data analytics.
* Responsible for day-to-day Greenplum Administration activities like role management, concurrency control, Database monitoring.
* Develop technical standards and provide resolution of complex system problems

Essential Requirements:

* 10+ years experience in a related role, deep knowledge in MPP databases
* Experience working with Petabyte size data sets
* Good understanding of solutions on multiple public & private clouds
* Good understanding of network, infrastructure setup for large scale clusters
* Greenplum/Teradata/Hadoop Upgrade and migration experience
* Greenplum Development experience writing GP functions and log tracing
* Experience with fixing catalog issues and query failures
* Experience with Linux platform, shell scripting
* Experience with MPP, Greenplum database concepts, high availability, failover
* Experience on Greenplum Database Backups and restoring
* Experience in Workload management, monitoring, performance Tuning, troubleshooting database issues
* Experience in parallel data loading, Database migration, External tables
* Experience with Database Fragmentation, Database Maintenance tasks
* Experience with Database table partitioning and table maintenance

Desirable Requirements:

* Bachelors in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
* Hands on experience in accelerated and automated app dev, CI/CD, DevOps principles, framework and tools to simplify development via true agile/lean principles.
