Job Description

Join the VMware Cloud Hyperscalers Workload Mobility and Connectivity team to shape the hybrid and multi-cloud digital transformation journey that enterprises are on today. Our team is looking for a Cloud Solution Architect to drive cloud automation for workload mobility from on-premises environments into VMware Clouds such as VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, Google Cloud VMware Engine, to name a few. This role will also be responsible for developing a strategy to continually enhance internal and external awareness of the benefits of using automation tools to help with migrating to VMware Cloud. We are looking for a strong technical resource with an understanding of data center technologies, a passion for customer interaction, and evangelism who will join us in driving mobility of current and future users of VMware Cloud across Hyperscalers. You will grow to understand the concerns, interests, demographics, and cultures of the audience while developing creative ideas around how we can deeply and effectively with them.

The Cloud Solution Architect role wears many hats: Evangelist, Tester, Experimenter, Public Speaker, Social Advocate, and Content Creator. As a key member of our rapidly growing team, you will be a subject matter expert for workload mobility and cloud connectivity for VMware Cloud across Hyperscalers.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with a cross-functional team (e.g. sales, product management, engineering, UX/UI, product marketing)
* Create both internal enablement and public facing technical content, such as presentations, demos, whitepapers, blogs, videos, and more
* Act as the authority in scripting languages and/or automation interfaces for workload mobility
* Safeguard high quality standards, consistency and usability for migrating workloads to VMware Cloud
* Champion users needs internally by providing invaluable feedback to the product and engineering teams
* Speaking and representing VMware Cloud at industry conferences and other field events
* Own/influence the hybrid cloud and cloud migration story
* Participate in joint lab and solution development with technology partners
* Be a vocal community participant and evangelist for workload mobility to VMware Cloud

Requirements

* Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical role such as consulting, system administration, or Site Reliability Engineer
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Hands-on experience with or understanding of VMware Cloud infrastructure products, including VMware Cloud Foundation
* Understanding of key cloud (private and public) trends and market dynamics; experience with public cloud provider is a plus
* Experience in scripting languages and automation technologies; large-scale data center experience is a plus
* Proven experience communicating technical concepts to IT professionals and executives
* Working knowledge of cloud networking architecture and concepts; experience with VMware NSX is a plus
* Working knowledge of cloud migration processes and tools; experience with VMware HCX is a plus
* Comfortable presenting / speaking to technical audiences including customers
* Experience enabling or engaging with enterprise-class sales teams and channels is a plus
* Strong leader, self-starter, and proven teammate in a high paced and achievement-oriented environment
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Skills

* Background and familiarity in delivering enterprise software as a service (SaaS)
* BS or MS degree in a marketing and/or technical discipline
* Experience in technical marketing or product management
* Start-up Mentality
