Requires a minimum of 2 years progressive experience in preventative and general maintenance in a production or manufacturing environment. Welding and electrical experience is a definite plus. Selected candidates may be required to work seven days a week, as well as extended hours in Bargaining Unit facility.
Position Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/components on plant & production equipment
Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order
Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure a continuous production operation
Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant & production equipment
Use hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & test parts/equipment on plant &
production equipment
Perform electrical and/or pneumatic work on production machines as needed
Welding and Fabrication
Maintain good housekeeping and GMPs
Responsible for maintaining food safety and quality
Must be open to work seven days a week and extended shift schedules
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years progressive mechanic experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Vocational tech training in machine maintenance a plus.
Ability to work the scheduled/assigned days and hours including required overtime
Regular attendance to ensure quality coverage requirements are met
Carry and push/pull up to 100 pounds
Ability to read and write English for completion of production/quality documents.
Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages
Ability to communicate effectively with plant personnel to ensure production issues are addressed and resolved as quickly as possible
Ability to problem solve when production/maintenance issues arise
Familiar with and ability to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, plasma cutter, torch and basic hand tools
Familiar with mechanical controls
Electrical experience is a plus
Starting Pay: $19.67 per hour
