Position Summary

This position reports to the Seneca Finance Director and provides financial leadership to the Plant Manager, staff and organization to ensure achievement of business results, while also ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial books and records of the plant through the management of accounting, financial reporting/controls, cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting functions. This is a highly visible key role in a large, high profile plant within the Company. Serve as business partner to the Operations team and assist in providing strategic and tactical direction for the long-term financial success of the plant

Standard Duties :

25% Supervision, delegation, priority setting, mentoring/coaching and coordination of activities

* Effectively manage, evaluate, monitor and develop employees under your influence to drive maximum operational performance and further employee career advancement. Seek to be a net exporter of finance talent.
* Ensure an effective internal control environment with polices/procedures that comply with US GAAP, ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) and Company Policy requirements.
* Develop strong collaborative relationships within the plant and across business unit and corporate global strength functions to drive operational financial performance.

* Other projects and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the facility.

15% Financial analysis

* This is including but not limited to discounted cash flow modeling (DCFs) to assess potential cost reduction ideas, new business quotes and Appropriation Requests (ARs).
* Cultivate continuous improvement through a mentality of cost reduction and lean thinking in the plant and drive this mentality into daily action.
* Interpret and communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial management. Establish and track plant performance against metrics that effectively capture plant improvement, but which are easily understood.
* Serve as a steward of operational investments including evaluation of new business opportunities, capex and management of working capital. View make vs. buy, expansion and other investment business cases through a broad strategic lens.

20% Budgeting and forecasting:

* Annual budget/LRP and monthly forecast processes.
* Coordinate the annual budget and long-range planning (LRP) process in a participative and strategic fashion that stretches the plant to optimal achievement.

20% Financial reporting/controls and cost accounting.

* This includes managing and supervising the monthly close process as well as the coordination of external and internal audits.
* Oversee and manage financial reporting and accounting functions at the plant. Accountable for timely and accurate month-end closing, forecasting, quoting, working capital, and fixed asset management.

20% Business partner to Operations.

* Serve as the Finance lead/business partner to the Assembly Leadership Team. I also facilitate and deliver the Driving Financial Effectiveness (DFE) course on a periodic basis.
* Provide early warning on all business trends that affect the performance of the plant including P&L, balance sheet, and operational issues, while identifying probable causes and solutions.

Additional Information:

* Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.

Safety and Physical Requirements:

* All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding and complying with the safety policies and procedures.
* Wear PPE when appropriate in designated campus areas.
* Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. on occasion.

Education & Experience

* Bachelors Degree required preferably in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
* CPA or CMA preferred
* Manufacturing accounting experience
* 8 + years manufacturing experience
* Prior experience with SAP and/or HFM/Hyperion
