Job Description

Autoliv is currently looking to fill the role of an Engineering Technician at its Technical Center located in Auburn Hills, MI, focusing on Ford Seat Belts & Hyundai-Kia Seatbelts/Airbags. The role entails aiding engineers and PTLs with day-to-day project-specific tasks to maintain project timing and on-time deliverables and customer support.

Job Responsibilities include:

* Manage data input in Autoliv systems including customer order updates, prepare shippers, create labels, manage parts from inspection to Shipping & Receiving dock.
* Assistance for sample build, testing, including parts management.
* Coordinate sample requests, build, traceability, modification, distribution and analysis of test parts.
* Aid Engineers with deliverables such as stack-ups, drawing changes, DFMEA, DVP&R, Test Reports, BOMs, system tests and customer interaction.
* Interface with PLM and GEO databases to load and modify documents.
* Create test plans, submit requests, and track test progress using GEO.
* Sample measurement (inertia, density, mass, gaps).
* Support Project Managers and Engineers with tasks including, not limited to:
* Submit orders to pull parts, manage inventory control, purge dates, etc.
* Submit Test Order requests and follow up with testing and testing setup
* Submit Prototype Build Order requests and follow with build documentation and component material inventories.
* Post-test part teardown analysis and documentation
* Warranty part tear down and analysis support
* Input Data in Toyota database for deliverables
* Highlight opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

* A High School diploma with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience is required. An Associate Degree in Engineering is preferred. Currently enrolled in school for a Bachelors in Engineering and/or Business is also a plus, but not required.
* Experience working with automotive product development and/or manufacturing safety, cosmetic and structural components.
* Ability/skills for building and repairing mechanical or electrical devices.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to quickly become proficient user in Autoliv systems.
* Experience in GD&T, drawing interpretation, product DVP&R testing, DFMEA, change point analysis, CAD preferred.
* Must have good Interpersonal skills to effectively work cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
* Ability to support activities to meet the demands of internal and external customers on time.
* Ability to organize work efficiently and manage time to achieve all tasks for all Engineers and Program Managers assigned work. Ability to work within project teams meet program goals and share lessons learned.
