The program manager will lead and communicate schedules and risks in the development of new features. The EPM will prioritize issues and track the details as well as the big picture. We want someone who can balance resets and changes and respond quickly, without being discouraged. ABOUT YOU: You are an ambitious individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal direction at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels. Can you coordinate multiple projects across multiple locations? You are someone with excellent written and interpersonal skills who pays attention to the details and is highly organized. You have experience running a complex set of software deliverables with many interdependencies and being a great partner within teams and across organizations in engineering, design, and leadership. You have excellent communication, organization and leadership skills as this is meaningful in our complex environment.

* 8+ years of project and/or program management experience
* Experience managing software development projects for distributed systems
* Strong technical proficiency in software development. Bonus points for past software development experience
* Demonstrated experience in defining processes and executing on them
* Experience as a project lead, supporting multiple projects simultaneously
* Consistent track record to meet deadlines and schedule constraints
* Outstanding presentation skills both in person and virtual meetings
* Familiarity with Scrum processes is a plus

Description

We are looking for a program manager who enjoys diving deep into the technology, with a successful track record of shipping complex, multi-functional projects under demanding timelines. This role requires the ability to understand the big picture while also being able to dive into technical details to solve problems. Partnering with various DRIs and partners to create and drive the activity plan, deliverables, dependencies, and outcome of projects, reporting on risks, dependencies, and budget, while looking ahead to identify upcoming issues and work around them before they impact the project. You will ensure execution is consistent or exceeds established Program Office standards and processes, and that reporting occurs on a regular, consistent basis with a high-level of accuracy. The Engineering team you will partner with is working on a greenfield initiative to build an elastic, scalable, and secure distributed unstructured data storage system, from ground up. This teams vision is to enable customers to run a wide variety of critical workloads such as databases, ML, analytics, enterprise and containerized applications. Highly durable storage substrate will offer options for customers to right size their workloads at the cost and performance intersection. Overall goal is to provide a high throughput, low latency distributed reads and writes to underlying disaggregated storage system. OTHER TASKS INCLUDE: - Manage multi-functional projects and initiatives for cloud scale, high performance storage systems. - Handle the day-to-day aspects of the project and its scope, including possible conflicting priorities and business interests - - Be firmly in the weeds with your partners - Drive decisions, blocking issues and conflict resolution with neutral, empathic, and data driven communications - Effectively and consistently communicate project goals and objectives. This includes difficult/sensitive project information to management, the project team and cross functional partner teams. - Develop process support documents to share with teams that will adopt the new process. - Identify process and project improvement areas, propose solution, carry through to roll-out. Obtain approval from key partners when the process is ready to be implemented and ensure that all key partners are fully aware of progress, challenges and any updates. - Proactively review surrounding projects for partners and identify resource strain and dependency clusters, follow up on outstanding issues, and assist with issue identification and replication.
