Director of Sales Support and Strategy Specialty Sales
Anthems Specialty Sales Division is looking to hire a Director of Sales Support and Strategy for its West Region (California, Colorado, and Nevada). This individual will manage a team of SARs (Sales Account Representatives) who do critical sales support work for new business and retention business. He/she will also function in a vital business strategy and process support role, in close partnership with our Specialty Sales Director, Local Commercial Management, and Specialty Staff VP of Distribution. Our ideal candidate has a health insurance sales, account management, or sales support background, experience managing a team, and experience in a strategic sales or sales operations role for a business unit.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Manages sales support areas which may include broker call center, sales support staff, sales training and technology, broker administration, proposals, product development, or material distribution. Provides advanced support to all internal and external sales. Identifies best practices and implements processes. Develops sales support business plan. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Qualifications
-BA/BS; 8 years of leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
-Insurance experience required, can be from medical, dental, vision, life, or disability
Highly preferred experience:
-Former Large group health or life insurance sales, account management, or sales support experience
-Ancillary carrier experience preferred
-Experience in a sales strategy or sales operations leadership role.
