Job Description

Data Management and Quantitative Analysis - S5 Oversees the workflow of a Data Management and Quantitative Analysis support team. Reviews complex cases escalated by more junior staff and monitors reports on the Banks or market data sources. Provides technical assistance on complex matters. Performs day-to-day work when necessary. Oversees workflow of a team of Data Management and Quantitative Analysis support staff in identifying data violations, exceptions, or occurrences exceeding the tolerance threshold. Monitors work in process to maximize productivity and quality to meet deadlines and daily goals. Resolves issues that have been escalated by more junior staff. Serves as first line supervisor for assignment of tasks. Performs day to day work, as needed. Manages data on the Banks systems and ensures information is accurate. Ensures document maintenance and summarization processes and procedures are implemented appropriately Recommends software enhancements and upgrades to improve efficiency. Responsible for coaching more junior team members on daily activities around preparing charts, graphs or reports. Answers questions, advises on performance improvements and provides input on thought processes and decision making. Responds to data-related questions from internal and external clients and helps provide solutions. Ensures that all customer responses are thoroughly documented and verified. Monitors staff production and quality performance objectives and communicates performance feedback and counseling to associates supervisor/manager. Addresses poor performance through defined progressive disciplinary guidelines. Serves as a work coordinator for a team of Data Management and Quantitative Analysis support staff. May be responsible for specific supervisory review and approval actions. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

Minimum Requirements

t
* Solid financial services background (experience working with different lines of businesses including but not limited to: asset servicing, corporate trust, treasury services, investment management and broker dealer business)
t
* Constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities and writing specifications
t
* Running complex SQL queries
t
* Data analysis and compiling reports
t
* Creating Business Requirements
t
* Translating business requirements to functional requirements
t
* Excellent documentation skills (meeting minutes, status updates, current and target state documentation)
t
* Strong communication and presentation skills to multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

t
* Experience working on client and account projects (including but not limited to Customer Relationship Management programs, Client Onboarding, Account Processing, Client Life Cycle Management)
t
* Knowledge of BNY legacy systems, businesses, and current account and client processing within each line of business
t
* Product expertise (Derivatives, FX, Equities, Collateral)
t
* Experience working on process improvement projects and build out of enterprise wide masters/systems
t
* UX/UI experience- creating mock-ups, wire frames, drafting business requirements for new systems
t
* Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in the financial industry preferred.
